Amy’s Update for the Week of 3-15-21

Dear Colleagues, This week marks the end of Winter quarter. I continue to be so proud of your steadfast dedication to student success. While teaching and working remotely isn’t “new” anymore, there are challenges that still exist, and I recognize the extra effort you’ve put in to make things as seamless as possible for our students and each other. I truly appreciate your creative thinking, flexibility, and willingness to go above and beyond. For those of you heading into Spring Break, I hope you will have the opportunity to get some rest. For those of you working over the break, I hope you will find time to unwind, get outside as the days grow longer, and grab a moment to take a break. Amy’s Update for the Week of 3-1-21

Dear Colleagues, This is an incredibly busy time at the college as we become more engaged in LionsLink (ctcLink) training and preparation. As many of our colleagues are involved in those training sessions, we are also in the final push of winter quarter with a little more than three weeks left, and we are in full swing for spring quarter registration. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who continue to go the extra mile as you are participating in extensive LionsLink training sessions, and those of you who are able to help your team members with their workload during this time. I along with Executive Cabinet know this is not an easy time for you. I want you to know that we truly appreciate all you’re doing and continue to look at ways to assist and support you. On another note, I want to make sure that you know our system leadership is advocating for all of our college employees to get access to vaccines as soon as possible. We are expecting that we, in higher education, will be a part of Phase 2 as determined by the Washington State Department of Health. At this point, I do not have additional details at this time about Phase 2 vaccination schedules. While I would like nothing more for all of us to have access to vaccines ASAP, we will need to follow Department of Health timelines. With that said, I am grateful that our on-campus child care staff and early childhood education program faculty and staff are included in the recently updated and expanded Phase...
